The workshop connects a conversation about memory with artistic practice. Participants will try to transform personal memories into creative work. Memory is rarely smooth and linear. Some events are erased, others return suddenly, and some layer over one another, changing meaning over time. This workshop offers a perspective on memories as a living material for creativity. The foundation will be a palimpsest - an ancient manuscript where the old text gave way to the new, yet continued to emerge through it. This is often how human memory is structured, where personal stories intertwine with cultural experiences, inherited images, and what we are living today. Participants in the workshop will be invited to look into their own memory and create a multilayered work using the technique of grattage - a technique of scratching through a wax layer, which well reflects the theme of hidden layers, traces, and emerging images. The session will be part of the exhibition "Mnemosyne of the Personal," conducted by artist Irina Nasonova, a participant in this exhibition project.
