The practical master class will introduce the Chinese technique of MoguFa, where form is born without a contour - only through spot and color. Chinese painting can be extremely precise and yet free: one brushstroke here can replace a line, shadow, and movement. In the practical session, participants will get acquainted with the MoguFa technique, which is called "bone-free painting." In it, the artist rejects the contour line and builds the image with color, spots, brush pressure, and subtle transitions. At the center of the session is Chinese symbolism of good wishes. Participants will learn why certain natural motifs are important in traditional culture, how a stone and a lotus bud can come together to form a talisman image, and why the meaning of a detail can sometimes be as important as its shape.
