A creative masterclass on creating a library hero. Participants will try unusual brainstorming techniques, play with associations, and use a neural network to turn their ideas into expressive images. Participants will be invited to assemble a library hero from associations, details of the environment, personal reading habits, and favorite genres. The result will be a character that easily reflects both the place and its visitors. At the beginning, the facilitator will explain what a mascot is and why it is needed for cultural spaces. How a fictional character can help the library engage with its audience, stand out among other institutions, and support special projects. Then, groups will be given tasks for brainstorming: to describe the character through smells and textures, to imagine their favorite place in the reading room, to come up with how they behave on a rainy day or what they do after closing. Such exercises help to break away from templates and see the future image from different angles. After that, participants will formulate prompts for the neural network and create a series of images. The masterclass will provide an opportunity to practice flexible thinking, exercise in formulating requests for AI, and take away not only a set of images but also techniques that will be useful in studies, personal projects, and future professions.
