Participants will create cozy blankets for cats from the Hermitage and shelters, including from yarn that has been given a second life. Experienced artisans will explain how to crochet a basic element using a hook and the simple technique of "granny square," from which a full blanket can later be assembled. In the process, you will learn the basics of crocheting, even if you have never held a hook before. The finished blankets will be donated to animal shelters and to the cats living in the State Hermitage. The crocheting is done from yarn left over from other projects or from unraveled items that have been given a second life. The organizers provide all necessary materials, but participants can bring their own yarn or hooks. Where to go in St. Petersburg can be found on our website.
