Old postcards hold an entire era within them. In this workshop, children will learn how the appearance of New Year's heroes has changed, why postcards were published by the Red Cross, who most often became the symbol of winter holidays, and what the illustrations on postcards from different years reflect. Then they will create their own festive postcard - with glitter, imagination, and a story inside. New Year is a time for fairy tales, traditions, and little pleasures that make winter days warm. One of those little pleasures is the New Year's postcard. In the museum workshop, children aged 8-12 will be able to learn about the history of this good tradition and become its continuators themselves. Participants will discover what the first Christmas postcards looked like in Russia and why they were published by the Red Cross, when Santa Claus appeared on postcards, and which country leaders most often became the heroes of festive illustrations. Together with the hosts, children will read postcards as historical documents that reflect the ideals, values, and visual language of different eras. The engaging narrative will make history alive and understandable. In the second part of the session, each participant will turn into a real artist and create their own postcard. Paper, paints, glitter, and imagination will help bring favorite winter images to life and convey the festive mood. This activity is not about templates - individuality and emotional response are valued here. The format of the workshop combines a tour and a creative task, making it interesting for schoolchildren and beneficial from a general development perspective. Children will not only broaden their horizons but will also go home with a bright result of their labor - a postcard that can be given to loved ones or kept in the family archive.
