About

On stage, four strong voices from the contemporary literary scene will meet - irony, drama, precise observations, and live actor performance will merge into one evening. Here, humor easily coexists with pain, and familiar life situations suddenly sound sharper, more honest, and much closer than expected. This evening is assembled as a large live program, where contemporary prose sounds from the stage with the tension usually reserved for listening to music at a big concert. Here, not only the text itself matters, but also who pronounces it, how the intonation changes, where pauses occur, when the audience laughs, and when it falls silent. This format has long transcended the boundaries of a typical literary performance: it relies on the energy of live reading, the recognizability of characters, and the precise hitting of feelings that many know from their own lives. Gosha Kutsenko, Anna Mikhalkova, Alexander Tsypkin, and Dmitry Chebotarev will take the stage. For the audience, this means a rare combination of different temperaments and different ways of existing in words. The same text in such a composition can sound sharply and cuttingly at times, lyrically at others, almost confessional, and then suddenly turn into pure comedy. The program features the best works of the author, as well as new texts, so the evening promises to maintain a balance between what the audience comes back for and what they want to hear for the first time. Alexander Tsypkin himself does not accidentally compare this project more to a rock concert than to a traditional production. This is an accurate characterization: there are hits, there is an effect of anticipation, there are recognizable intonations, and a sense of direct contact with the audience. But at the same time, everything is built on literature - on stories where everyday comedy, personal awkwardness, relationships, self-irony, and sudden emotional blows mix together. The project has existed since 2016 and during this time has become a notable phenomenon at the intersection of literature and stage. Many well-known Russian actors have participated in it, and this form has helped modern short prose become closer to a wider audience.
