Arbat holds stories not only about poets and artists. In this open lecture, the fates of women whose names are associated with charity, patriotism, and the great commander Suvorov will come to life. The Losev House invites you to an open lecture dedicated to the outstanding women of Arbat, whose fates are inextricably linked to the history of Russia, the Women's Patriotic Society, and the Suvorov family. The event is timed to the 250th anniversary of Natalia Alexandrovna Zubova - the daughter of the great commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov. The lecture will be delivered by the chairwoman of the Women's Patriotic Society, candidate of historical sciences Galina Ananina. The focus will be not only on Natalia Alexandrovna, awarded the Order of St. Catherine and the medal "In Memory of the Patriotic War of 1812," but also on her descendants, who continued the work of mercy and enlightenment. Zubova lived for seven years in house No. 42 on Arbat Street, while the neighboring house No. 44 became the refuge of her great-granddaughter - the famous philanthropist Maria Alexandrovna Neidgardt. The event will be interesting to anyone who loves local history, urban toponymy, and little-known details of past eras.
