The lecture will reveal the work of Zinaida Serebriakova through her self-portraits. Participants will learn how personal events were reflected in her works. The meeting will be dedicated to one of the prominent artists of Russian art in the 20th century, a representative of the Benois-Lansere dynasty. Through self-portraits, they will trace how Zinaida Serebriakova's artistic language was formed and how her inner state changed during different periods of her life. Special attention will be paid to portrait painting and the role of the artist herself as a model. The works created in different years will reflect not only the characteristics of the technique but also the personal story - with all its complexities and twists. The context of the creation of the works and the biography of the master will be discussed by art historian, teacher, and lecturer Anna Zalavina. Registration is required to participate.
