The film club "Non-obvious Cinema" invites you to a lecture dedicated to the key trends and artistic directions in Russian cinema of the 2010s-2020s. This period has been rich, contradictory, and in many ways groundbreaking: Russian cinema has found new life, expanded its palette of themes and genres, and the audience has broadened its expectations and tastes. War drama, fantasy, festival auteur cinema - during the meeting, we will discuss the processes that defined the visual and meaningful appearance of the screen. Special attention will be given to the phenomenon of Yakut cinema, which has gained recognition on the international stage, and the work of Roman Mikhailov - one of the boldest and most original directors of recent times. Cultural expert and film scholar Tatyana Shuvaeva will also talk about the Caucasian film school that grew around the name of Alexander Sokurov, and the trends shaping modern Russian series.
