About

What did a performance look like before our era and what did the audience see when they came to one of the first theaters? The lecture will explore the origins of stage art and how ancient performances were organized. At the Anna Akhmatova Library, listeners will get acquainted with the main versions of the origin of theater and trace its path from ritual forms to tragedies. A separate part of the conversation will be dedicated to theater through the eyes of the ancient viewer: listeners will learn where the audience was seated, how the stage was organized, and what happened in front of it during the performance. We will also talk about playwrights whose works influenced the development of theatrical art. The lecture will be conducted by Olga Zinenko - a lecturer in the history of world theater. Prior registration is required to participate. For details and registration conditions, please check the library's website. Find other events in Moscow on KUDAGO.
