About

How did the hidden war of intelligence unfold in the chaos of post-war Berlin? In Oleg Khlobustov's lecture, episodes of the confrontation between the USSR and the Allies will come to life - a tense drama in the spirit of a spy thriller. After the surrender of Nazi Germany, the attention of the world's intelligence services focused on the devastated Berlin. In this unstable environment, an invisible but fierce struggle began between the intelligence agencies of the USSR and the Western Allies. This lecture is dedicated to that struggle, led by retired Colonel of State Security, Doctor of Law, and historian of intelligence services Oleg Khlobustov. Listeners will learn about the tactics of American and British intelligence, which actively recruited former Nazis and prisoners of war, spread disinformation, and hunted for data on the location of Soviet troops. The lecturer will detail how cooperation with war criminals was conducted, which became part of the geopolitical game in the post-war situation. Particular attention will be paid to the activities of Soviet counterintelligence, which neutralized more than two hundred agents of Western intelligence services in a short time - this part of history is still little known. Khlobustov will also shed light on more painful aspects of the post-war period - cases of violence against civilians by Allied forces, which are rarely spoken of aloud. His approach is based on documentary sources, careful analysis, and many years of experience. Where to go in Moscow on the weekend will be suggested by our website.
