The history of the grand painting cycle by Alfons Mucha is a reflection of the artist's fate, who returned to his Slavic roots. Alfons Mucha is primarily known as one of the main masters of Art Nouveau. However, there is a significant chapter in his biography related to a completely different artistic concept. After great international success, the artist returned to the theme of his native Czech Republic and, more broadly, to the history of the Slavic peoples, deciding to embody it in a vast cycle of paintings.
