About

What do the old book stalls of St. Petersburg hide? Ekaterina Blatova's lecture will transport listeners to the atmosphere of the pre-revolutionary city - with authentic shops, urban legends, and the history of booksellers. The bookselling shops of St. Petersburg are not just places where old books are sold. They are keys to the past, points on the cultural map where the city's history and the fates of its inhabitants intersect. The lecture invites you on an intellectual journey through the city as it was at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Participants, along with lecturer Ekaterina Blatova - a graduate student at the European University in St. Petersburg and an employee of "Subscription Publications" - will be able to reconstruct a unique literary guide to the capital of the empire. The foundation includes archival data, urban legends, and eyewitness accounts. The St. Petersburg poster is available on KudaGo.
