Under the starry dome of the planetarium, magic is born - scientific, Christmas, alive. Guests will have to unravel the mystery of the Star of Bethlehem, examine winter constellations, and immerse themselves in the cosmos of biblical stories. Everything is in a dialogue format with the opportunity to ask questions. At the end of December and the beginning of January, the A.S. Popov Radio Museum invites you to an author’s lecture in the planetarium - a conversation about science, traditions, and the mysteries of the starry sky. In a warm discussion format under the dome of the planetarium, participants will discuss one of the most mysterious topics: what the Star of Bethlehem really was and how it can be explained from an astronomical point of view. The biblical story of the wise men following the bright star will be examined from a new angle that evening. Together with the host, guests will analyze possible options: comets, supernovae, planetary conjunctions. But the main thing is that everyone will be able to propose their version and discuss it with other participants. Special attention will be paid to the winter sky. The host will talk about the most noticeable and beautiful stars that adorn the sky at this time of year and will teach how to find them using simple landmarks.
