The curator of the exhibition "Around Impressionism" will come to Nizhny Novgorod to talk about the artists who are not in this exhibition - but without whom the picture is incomplete. Anna Poznanskaya, a candidate of art history and deputy head of the department of new Western art at the Pushkin Museum, will speak at the Arsenal cinema and concert hall. Her lecture is dedicated to Scandinavian painters who, at the end of the 19th century, moved to Paris and discovered Impressionism there. Interestingly, having mastered the French technique, they did not dissolve into it: each maintained a connection with their national tradition and ultimately created their own version of the style. How this happened and who these artists were will be the topic of discussion.
