The talk will cover ancient monasteries, their architecture, educational role, strategic significance, and lost monuments. The meeting will examine the oldest monasteries that grew up next to the white-stone Kremlin. The lecturer will show how monasteries performed spiritual, educational, and strategic functions: books were preserved here, artistic traditions were formed, work with the townspeople took place, and strong walls and towers became part of the defensive belt.
