The meeting is dedicated to Leningrad in the 1970s-a time of grand plans, ambitions, and unfulfilled projects. The conversation will focus on the city as it was envisioned and how it remains in memory. The lecture will be conducted by urban history researcher, author of a project on unrealized architectural and urban planning ideas of Leningrad, creator of popular guides, and a regular speaker at the library, Mikhail Krainov. The focus will be on the 1970s era: anniversaries, large-scale housing construction, the emergence of new districts, metro projects, the construction of airports and hotels, and preparations for major international events.
