Kuzma Sergeyevich Petrov-Vodkin is a unique figure in the history of Russian art. His fate is like a parable about talent born in the provinces, which, thanks to perseverance and inner light, rises to the heights of art. This is the path taken by the son of a shoemaker from Khvalynsk, who became one of the most recognizable and significant artists of the 20th century. Guests of the program can expect not only a story about the artist but also an attempt to glimpse into his world, to see familiar reality through the lens of his invented "spherical perspective," to feel the harmony of color and the depth of thought. The author of the lecture, Yulia Dimitrova, will talk about the amazing life and work of Petrov-Vodkin, his memories and views on art, his contemporaries, and travels. Excerpts from the artist's literary works will also be read. The immersion into the artist's world will be accompanied by works of Glinka, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff performed by pianist Daria Dorozhkina.
