From Futurist manifestos to Cubo-Futurist images - this lecture will bring to life the connections between Italy and Russia. Futurism is an art that can sound like an explosion. Speed, movement, technology, rejection of the past, and the cult of the present - all of this originated in Italy but soon came to Russia. You will explore the points of contact and fracture between Italian and Russian Futurism, the influence of the cult of machines on painting, language, and perception of time. Special attention will be given to the 2021 exhibition, where for the first time in one space the collections of Italian and Russian avant-gardists came together.
