African traditional beliefs remain an unsolved part of the cultural code of the continent to this day. This meeting is a rare opportunity to immerse oneself in religions where ancestors, spirits, and rituals form the fabric of everyday life. The African continent is not only a geographical diversity and ethnic richness but also an amazing blend of religious traditions. As part of the meeting of the Youth Association of Free Anthropological Studies, a lecture will be held dedicated to the religions of Africa and their interaction with world faiths. African beliefs are still in the shadows; however, it is the traditional religions-with ancestor worship, belief in nature spirits, and a complex system of rituals-that permeate all spheres of local life. These religious practices are not only alive but continue to adapt to social and ethnic realities while maintaining their authenticity. At the lecture, listeners will learn how ancient beliefs coexisted with newcomer religions during the times of colonization, how they changed under the influence of social transformations, and what significance they hold today-not only for the people of Africa but also for African Americans and Latin Americans of African descent. The meeting will be led by Anastasia Sobolevskaya, a master's student at the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnology of RGGU and a graduate of the Geography Faculty of MGU.
