It seems that everything has long been decided about Shakespeare, but questions about him only multiply. At the Akhmatova Library, the most persistent ideas about his plays will be examined. The discussion will focus on why Hamlet is commonly regarded as a thinker and where this image originated, as well as to whom the play is actually addressed and why the hero is suffocating. They will recall "Romeo and Juliet" and look at it without the usual romantic filter. A separate episode will cover the story of Richard III and how political commissions influence theater and the reputations of characters. They will touch on "The Tempest" and try to read the encrypted authorial message within it. Registration is required to participate.
