About

The first day of the grand jazz forum opens with a rare combination of jazz improvisation and symphonic form. On stage, a big band will meet the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, while vocal episodes will add cinematic flair and drive to the program. The evening holds contrasts - from bright swinging bursts to delicate lyricism. The first day of the festival immediately sets the scale: on one stage, two large ensembles meet - the jazz orchestra and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. This combination works on contrast: improvisation lives alongside a strict score, while the familiar timbres of the big band gain symphonic depth. At the podium is Ivan Rudin - the artistic director and conductor, who knows how to assemble diverse programs into a cohesive dramaturgy. Vocalists join the concert lines: the program features singer Fantine, while Oleg Akkuratov performs as both vocalist and pianist. Their appearance makes the evening more conversational in tone: jazz phrases sound like replies, and the piano responds with precise, collected accents. The program is structured to showcase different musical worlds. Compositions from the album "Images. Mussorgsky and Borodin," excerpts from Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen," Rachmaninoff's "Vocalise," and pieces from the repertoire of jazz and symphonic orchestras are announced. As a result, academic music and jazz find themselves side by side without external effects: recognizable themes receive new light, and the orchestral texture becomes more rhythmic and springy. KudaGo presents the current program for Moscow.
