A trio of young stars from the academic stage will perform masterpieces by Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, and Korngold accompanied by the State Orchestra under the direction of Oleg Khudyakov. The concert "Stars of the 21st Century" is an evening when young, yet already recognized stars of the classical scene gather on one stage to gift the audience inspiration, beauty, and the power of live music. The audience will be treated to performances by pianist Eva Gevorgyan, violinist Elena Tarosyan, and pianist Nikolai Kuznetsov - laureates of international competitions who have gained recognition on the most prestigious stages. Together with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E.F. Svetlanov and under the direction of Maestro Oleg Khudyakov, they will perform works by three geniuses: Rachmaninoff, Korngold, and Gershwin. The evening's program includes one of Sergei Rachmaninoff's most brilliant pieces: "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" for piano and orchestra. This work combines a swift rhythm, tumultuous expression, and tender lyricism - and is especially memorable for its 18th variation, which is rightly considered the jewel of the entire rhapsody. The second piece will be the Violin Concerto in D major by Ernst Korngold - a rare, almost cinematic work full of romantic expression and refined musical language. Its author, one of Hollywood's first composers, gifted the world a composition that breathes the essence of the big screen, rich colors, and genuine sincerity. The evening will conclude with Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" - a piece that united classical music and jazz in a single flow. This bright, lively, and very American work sounds like a hymn to freedom, improvisation, and joy.
