About

The evening combines the brilliance of the young performing school with a symphonic repertoire of rare beauty. In one program, the passionate violin works of Szymanowski will meet the inspired Chopin with his first piano concerto - music in which virtuosity reveals the subtlety of feelings, poetry, and inner expansiveness. The concert is built on a combination of bright solo energy and grand symphonic breath. At the center of the program is music in which the brilliance of technique never exists for its own sake, but serves feeling, drama, and the beauty of intonation. Such an evening is especially good for those who appreciate large forms, love to follow the live dialogue between the soloist and the orchestra, and want to hear works where emotional openness is combined with delicate musical craftsmanship. The program unites Karol Szymanowski and Frédéric Chopin. This kinship seems natural, but it is not often revealed in one concert. Szymanowski's music has tension, freedom of line, orchestral luxury, and a special sound plasticity. His concert overture and First Violin Concerto demand courage, flexibility, and almost improvisational breath from the performers. This music can capture the listener immediately: it bursts forth in bright colors and then retreats into more elusive, almost dreamlike states. The second peak of the evening is Chopin's First Piano Concerto. This composition is especially dear to the audience for its lyrical quality, nobility of melodies, and the sincerity that is felt in every theme. Here, the piano does not argue with the orchestra but leads a subtle and spiritual conversation with it. In the slow section, the music sounds almost confessional, and in the finale, lightness, mobility, and brilliance emerge, making the composition truly festive. A particular interest is raised by the lineup of participants. Violinist Daniil Kogan and pianist Konstantin Khachikian will take the stage, accompanied by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E.F. Svetlanov, conducted by Ivan Nikiforchin. For the listener, this means the opportunity to hear two different styles at once.
