The Symphony Orchestra of the Chapel, conducted by Alexander Chernushenko, will take listeners from a ceremonial march and piano concerto to the brightness of ballet, waltz, and Spanish colors. The season finale at the Chapel is structured as a grand panorama of Russian academic music - from romantic expansiveness to theatrical brightness. The Symphony Orchestra of the Chapel will perform under the direction of Alexander Chernushenko. The program will open with Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Slavonic March" - a composition with festive scale and expressive contrasts. The central event will be Sergei Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto with orchestra. The soloist will be Ilya Chirsikov. The second part will change the perspective: the overture by Dmitry Kabalevsky to the opera "Kola Bruynon" will be performed, followed by the intermezzo from the ballet "Raymonda" by Ilya Glazunov, excerpts from the ballet "Spartacus," and the famous waltz from Aram Khachaturian's suite for the drama "Masquerade."
