The power of polyphony, the rare performance of Taneev's cantata, and the participation of leading choirs from across the country make this concert particularly significant. The unique performance of Taneev's cantata, combined with the participation of an orchestra and choral groups, will provide listeners with a rare emotional and cultural experience. This concert is one of the most important events dedicated to the World Day of Choral Art. Leading ensembles from Russia will gather on stage - finalists of the "Autumn Polyphony" festival and the Great Academic Choir of the Federation of Choral and Vocal Art. They will perform works that reflect the depth and diversity of choral tradition, from spiritual music to masterpieces of the academic repertoire. The central piece of the program will be the cantata "John of Damascus" - a monumental composition by Sergey Taneev that combines Orthodox musical canonicity with Western compositional rigor. The text of the cantata is based on a poem by Alexei Tolstoy about the holy poet and theologian.
