The philosophical performance-concert transforms familiar compositions into reflections on time, memory, and how music continues to change over the centuries. The program of the "Virtuosos of Moscow" orchestra builds an arc between the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Henry Purcell, Jean-Baptiste Lully, John Dowland, Antonio Vivaldi, and 21st-century music. The semantic center of this movement is Max Richter's "Seasons." His composition has long become one of the most discussed examples of how classical material can acquire new interpretations. An important role is played not only by the musical dramaturgy but also by the visual accompaniment, specially created by artists from Canada.
