A musical journey through America - from a tender Mexican serenade to the grand "Tango Mass" by Martín Palmeri. The Vera Arte Chamber Orchestra and the Vox Cordis Choir combined classical mastery with the vibrant emotionality of Latin American music in a program full of light, passion, and power. The concert "Around the New World" is a grand musical odyssey that spans continents, eras, and styles. Continuing the April program "Around the Old World," the musicians of the Vera Arte Chamber Orchestra and the Vox Cordis Chamber Choir open new horizons - this time featuring only composers from America. The combination of choral singing, orchestral arrangements, and vocal numbers transforms the concert into a vivid and multi-layered event. The first part will feature several rare gems: the famous "Brazilian Bachiana No. 5" by Heitor Villa-Lobos in an unusual arrangement for soprano and eight cellos, the emotional "Estrellita" by Manuel Ponce, a suite from the musical "West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein, and the energetic "Braziliera" by Darius Milhaud - the only European piece in the program, but perfectly in tune with its spirit. The second part is entirely dedicated to the "Tango Mass" by Argentine composer Martín Palmeri. This is a rare example of how a Catholic mass in Latin merges with the rhythms of Argentine tango. The work was written under the strong influence of Astor Piazzolla, and one of the central parts is dedicated to the bandoneon - an instrument without which true tango cannot be imagined.
