A chamber concert by the creative group Ars Longa connects academic music from different eras. Students from leading Moscow music schools will perform Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Mendelssohn, and Prokofiev. The theme of this concert is spring renewal. The program will feature academic music from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Lyrical pages will alternate with dynamic pieces, serious reflections with light and sparkling musical dialogues. The program will be performed by students from the Gnessin Music School, the Central Music School of the Academy of Performing Arts, and the Moscow State Institute of Music named after A.G. Schnittke. These are young musicians who work daily on technique, sound production, ensemble, and score reading, and the result is audible from the first notes. The concert program demonstrates the diversity of the academic tradition. It features baroque lines, classical forms, romantic melodies, and the multifaceted language of 20th-century music.
