An evening dedicated to the music of Igor Stravinsky will bring together renowned performers and large orchestral forms on stage. The energy, precision, boldness of sound, unexpected images - everything that makes Stravinsky beloved will come alive in the hall thanks to live performance and a rare selection of compositions. The music of Igor Stravinsky is like a kaleidoscope, where each new movement reveals an unexpected facet. His compositions still sound modern and sharp, as if they were written yesterday, and on this evening several of them will be performed in the hall - from daring neoclassicism to experimental forms. At the center of the program are four compositions written in the 1920s and 1930s. The concert will open with "Capriccio for Piano and Orchestra," where swift passages and rhythmic play create the effect of a witty musical conversation. Following it will be "Concerto in D" - an elegant, tense composition for violin and orchestra, combining virtuosity with delicate lyricism. Another duet - "Concert Duo for Violin and Piano" - will showcase a fine musical fabric, in which the instruments seem to engage in a philosophical dialogue. The evening will conclude with the ballet "Card Game" - a bold, almost theatrical score with unexpected twists, where the plot of a card intrigue can be guessed behind the notes. Performers include the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E. F. Svetlanov conducted by Philip Chizhevsky, as well as soloists: pianist Philip Kopachevsky and violinist Olga Volkova. The evening will be hosted by Yaroslav Timofeev, a music critic and expert on Stravinsky's work, who will add a brief story to each piece, allowing a glimpse into the compositions in the context of their era.
