Students and graduates of the Gnessin Music College will perform compositions by composers from the 18th to the 21st centuries. The musical program is built on contrasts of timbres, epochs, and performance traditions. Throughout the evening, compositions by Western European and Russian composers, written from the 18th to the 21st century, will be performed. This range allows us to hear how the language of academic music has changed. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaetano Donizetti, Pablo de Sarasate, Mikhail Glinka, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Dmitri Shostakovich, and other Russian and foreign composers will be featured. Listeners can expect a panorama of musical styles, a journey from the baroque clarity and classical form to romanticism and the diverse language of the 20th century. The concert will feature performers on violin, clarinet, domra, balalaika, gusli, bayan, and accordion, as well as vocalists. The concert will be hosted by Natalia Mukhina.
