The main character, Alcina, is not just an antagonist but a complex and multifaceted character. Despite her magical abilities and her capacity to destroy fates for her own pleasure, she is portrayed as a deeply feeling woman capable of sincere love. The plot of the opera is based on a motif from Ariosto's heroic poem "Orlando Furioso." The piano performance by Yuri Goncharov and the vocal parts of the theater's artists under the artistic direction of Tatiana Akaskina fill the ancient story with a new sound.
