"Calm" is a musical island of silence in the noisy rhythm of the metropolis. Three live performances by masters of ambient and sound art immerse you in a state of deep relaxation. If you are tired of news feeds, rush, and endless notifications, it’s worth giving yourself two hours of complete reboot. "Calm" is an evening created to release tension, restore breath, and feel music not only with your ears but with your whole body. The project brings together live performances by electronic musicians working with subtle sound textures and immersive atmosphere. There are no loud beats or stage fuss here - instead, there’s spatial sound, improvisation, analog instruments, and deep work with silence as a full-fledged element of composition. On this evening, St. Petersburg will present MONOKLE - a sound producer whose works have been featured on Boiler Room and Ki Records releases. His music is IDM, minimal techno, and ambient, intertwined in melancholic soundscapes. MONOKLE won the Kuriyokhin Prize in 2012 for the best electronic album. From Yekaterinburg, VALERI LOWER will arrive - a DJ and producer working with FM synthesis and sampling. His set is a sound sculpture on the edge of industrial and meditative sound, where each fragment is built as an independent audio field. The program will be concluded by IGOR STARSHINOV - a veteran of sound art with over twenty years of experience. His performances are always live, improvised, and unique every time. In his arsenal are vintage drum machines, analog synthesizers, and deep sound architecture. He is also a laureate of the Kuriyokhin Prize in 2017. This evening will be interesting for everyone who practices mindfulness, is interested in contemporary sound, ambient, and seeks unconventional musical formats.
