Two compositions, written nearly a century and a half apart, will be structured into a single dramatic dialogue. The program of this evening is built as a conversation between different eras, in which the intonations, density of sound, and the very sense of time change. First, the listener finds themselves in a space of clear form and precise proportions, then - in a world of internal tension and complex musical gestures. Such a transition requires attention and provides a rare opportunity to hear how academic music changes its language while maintaining the seriousness of expression. In the first part, Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto will be performed. Here, the solo instrument engages in a dialogue with the orchestra without external flamboyance, relying on a transparent texture and delicate work with timbre. The music develops freely and focused, maintaining a balance between intimacy and symphonic scale. In the second part, Alfred Schnittke's Fourth Violin Concerto will be presented. Its language is built on contrasts and sharp mood shifts. The violin part becomes the center of tension, while the orchestra forms a complex sound environment, where each entry carries weight and meaning. The concert features soloists from the Saint Petersburg House of Music - pianist Kirill Rogovoy and violinist Ravil Islyamov. Their parts are supported by the Symphony Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre under the direction of Maxim Fedotov.
