The organ and Scottish bagpipe will unite in a program featuring Celtic legends, traditional melodies from the British Isles, and music by European composers. The organ fills the space with soft depth and solemn volume, while the bagpipe bursts in with a sharp, piercing timbre reminiscent of a call from the open hills. Their meeting creates a sound that is hard to confuse with a typical chamber concert. The program includes compositions by Hans-Andre Stamm, Ulrich Roever, Gordon Duncan, James Scott Skinner, and traditional melodies from the British Isles. The evening guides the listener through ancient legends, martial rhythms, dance turns, and tunes that echo the northern wind, festive processions, and ancient oral memory.
