The music of contemporary composer Max Richter will be performed under the arches of the cathedral. It is unlikely that there is anyone who has never heard the world-famous masterpiece by Antonio Vivaldi - the cycle of concertos for violin and orchestra "The Four Seasons." In this brilliant work, the Baroque composer so profoundly and vividly reflected the mood of nature and the experiences of humanity that the piece remains timeless even after hundreds of years. Vivaldi's cycle inspired composers of subsequent eras, one of the most outstanding examples being "The Seasons" by contemporary British composer Max Richter, who linked Baroque melodies with modern rhythms and tempos. His pieces Organum, Iconography, Solitaries, and others will also be performed. Richter's work sparks debate, but it leaves no one indifferent, as the concert attendees will witness. The program will be performed by organist Lydia Savinkova and the "Gnesin Virtuosos" orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Khokhlov. The soloist is Ekaterina Popova (violin).
