Under the dome of the Putevoy Palace, masterpieces by the great Russian romantic composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky will be performed. The program dedicated to Tchaikovsky will be performed by the chamber orchestra "Academy of Russian Music" under the direction of Ivan Nikiforchin. The evening will open with music from the ballet "The Nutcracker". Famous pieces such as the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Chinese and Arabian dances, the Waltz of the Flowers, and others will be performed. The program will continue with the piano cycle "The Seasons". The theme of changing seasons as a metaphor for the human life cycle has long attracted the attention of masters of various arts. Works dedicated to this theme exist in painting and poetry as well. Musicians have turned to this theme, perhaps more than others, interpreting it through completely different genres. Among the numerous "Seasons" are baroque secular cantatas, classical oratorios, and examples of various musical styles from the twentieth century. "The Seasons" is a suite of 12 piano pieces by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, which will be performed this evening. The program will conclude with a Serenade for string orchestra.
