As part of the "Music Without Borders" series, a concert will take place for those who want to look at familiar melodies in a new way. The program will unite Handel, Mozart, Chopin, Oginsky, Bizet, Glinka, and Tchaikovsky in unexpected arrangements. The program features works by composers from the 18th to the 21st centuries, bringing together Handel and Mozart, Chopin and Oginsky, Bizet and Glinka, Tchaikovsky and contemporary composers. Widely known pieces will be performed in unusual arrangements for violin, clarinet, guitar, domra, balalaika, gusli, and bayan. The program will take listeners from Baroque to Romanticism and to the present day. Short remarks by the host will create the effect of a "guide to classics": clear hints on where to listen for the theme, how the variation is structured, and what is interesting about the dialogue of instruments. The program will be performed by laureates of international competitions, students, and graduates of the Gnessin Music School.
