Songs in five languages, urban romances, and forgotten melodies will come together in a lively narrative about memory, loss, love for the Motherland, and the voices of a bygone era. At the center of the evening are songs from the first half of the 20th century, romances and melodies associated with people who carried their love for the Motherland through separation, war, and life abroad. The repertoire will feature pieces by Pyotr Leshchenko, Yuri Morfessi, Alla Bayanova, the famous "Dark Eyes," "Two Guitars" in their original versions, alongside lesser-known works that rarely take center stage in concert programs. A special role is played by the participation of Pyotr Abramov-a bass-baritone and performer of artistic word. His comments and stage presence will help connect individual musical pages into a cohesive narrative. The musical foundation will be created by the quartet "Moscow Balalaika," a group with a long history and an extensive repertoire, working with Russian folk instruments in a broad and expressive manner.
