A new symphonic program gathers rare scores and compositions by authors who speak differently about time, memory, and the power of orchestral sound on one stage. The evening will open with the Concertino for oboe and orchestra by Alexander Klevitcky - a St. Petersburg premiere, where the expressiveness of timbre and the plasticity of the melodic line play a special role. Then, the symphonic poem "Girl - Peony" by Yan Jinpan from the ballet of the same name will be performed - a composition with vivid imagery and theatrical scope. Another important event will be the world premiere of the symphonic poem "Hero City Leningrad" by Karel Volnyansky for a large symphonic orchestra. In the second part, Symphony No. 27 by Sergey Slonimsky will be performed, and the event will conclude with the Fourth Piano Concerto with orchestra by Alexander Tchaikovsky. Piano soloist Nikolai Mazhara will perform, the oboe part will be played by Denis Bystrov, and the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Alexey Morgunov.
