The team from the Nikolai-Malitsky Men's Monastery in Tver preserves the Athonite tradition of Byzantine singing and is engaged in its study and dissemination. This is especially valuable for the general public, as such a concert provides an opportunity to hear not a stylization or external reconstruction, but a careful work with authentic material. Here, every detail is important - the chant, the structure of intonation, the prayerful breath of the phrase, the special cohesion of the overall sound. The history of the choir began in 2018. Some members of the collective lived for a long time on Athos and absorbed the local singing culture directly from everyday monastic practice. This gives the performance weight and authenticity that cannot be replaced by academic training alone.
