Works that are considered popular classics will be performed by organist Olga Kotlyarova. The program of the festival "White Nights of the Belcanto Foundation" will feature music that has delighted listeners for centuries. These compositions are beautiful in their own right, and each of them is associated with an interesting story. Toccata and Fugue in D minor is one of the most widely known compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. Interestingly, its original manuscript is lost, and the first publication in 1833 was made from a handwritten copy by organist Johannes Ringk. In the late 20th century, some researchers even expressed doubts about whether Bach truly wrote the Toccata and Fugue in D minor. The program will include one of the most popular works by Richard Wagner - "Ride of the Valkyries" from the opera "Die Walküre", the second part of the tetralogy "Der Ring des Nibelungen". Concert guests will also hear excerpts from the operas "Tannhäuser" and "Lohengrin". Additionally, compositions by Henry Purcell, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and César Franck will be performed.
