About

The masterpiece of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will be performed by soloists, the State Chapel of Moscow named after Vadim Sudakov, and organist Igor Belokon. Requiem is a Western European genre of sacred music, a mass for the dead. However, the requiems of great composers, primarily Mozart, have transcended the walls of cathedrals and have been performed in concert halls as well - such is the genius and universality of this music. The requiem became one of the last compositions written by Mozart. The composer wrote it on commission. The client was somewhat strange - he knocked on the door at an unusual time, hiding his face under a hood. Mozart accepted the commission, but he was tormented by dark premonitions… A few months later, the composer died before he could finish the piece. His student Franz Xaver Süssmayr completed the work. The mystery of the creation of the piece is now resolved: the client was a nobleman who claimed authorship of others' compositions, which is why the messenger's face was hidden. Mozart's Requiem is one of the most sublime, brilliant, and luminous compositions in the history of music, and everyone should hear it at least once. Soloists - Margarita Belokon-Saigina (soprano), Olga Petelina (mezzo-soprano), Yuri Porokhnya (tenor), Evgeny Pozdnyakov (bass). To find out more details, click the "Buy Ticket" button.
