An evening where jazz meets Christmas: The Youth Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Denis Melnikov will blend swing and festive melodies, adding fresh arrangements and the spark of a live hall. The program includes Christmas classics and New Year themes that you want to hum on your way home and smile. At the beginning of the winter holidays, there is a special desire for music that instantly lifts the mood and sounds truly alive. In this program, jazz takes on the role of the festive storyteller: familiar Christmas melodies receive a swinging rhythm, while New Year themes enjoy warm improvisational freedom. On stage is the Youth Jazz Orchestra. This is a project for musicians who learn to listen to each other, keep a common pulse, and work with shades of sound like a palette. At the helm is Denis Melnikov: a conductor who knows how to unite a large ensemble into a single breath and bring to the forefront what is most valued in jazz - dialogue. The program features classic Christmas compositions and popular New Year motifs in jazz arrangements. Saxophones and the brass section create bright accents, the rhythm section provides a confident foundation, and the soloists have space for short, precise statements. Here, it is easy to discern how a familiar melody changes when it receives a new harmonic twist or an unexpected "response" from the orchestra. Special guests will add extra interest: Karina Kozhevnikova, Evgeny Pobozhiy, and Alexey Podymkin. Their participation brings more contrasts to the program - from lyricism to drive, from intimate intonation to powerful ensemble sound.
