About

Brazilian shoru sounds like a conversation of a noisy city: the clarinet argues with the flute, guitars pick up the rhythm, and the pandeiro winks at the samba. The program features hits from Rio and songs from all over Latin America, live vocals, and light hosting. Shoru is urban instrumental music from Brazil, where you can hear both the street hustle of Rio de Janeiro and the smile of coastal bars. This genre is full of light: melodies are easily picked up, the rhythm pushes you to move, and the freedom of improvisation makes each piece alive, like a conversation at a table. In the program, the ClassicaPlus ensemble will connect Brazilian shoru with songs from different corners of Latin America. The tracklist resembles a route across the continent: from "Tico-tico no fubá" and "Brasileirinho" to the lyrical "Luna llena" and "Sonho meu." An important part of the evening is the vocals of Alisa Ten and the hosting of Fyodor Sofronov: they help switch between styles and stories without losing the tempo. The lineup impresses with a palette of timbres: the clarinet and flute paint airy lines, the violin adds sharpness, the mandolin and cavaquinho provide that Brazilian "snap," the guitars maintain harmony, and the pandeiro colors the pulse with tiny sparks. The music sometimes becomes almost chamber-like, and sometimes unfolds into a small celebration - without unnecessary loudness, but with a sense of close contact with the artists.
