Listeners will be transported to the banks of the Danube, where enchanting waltzes are born, Viennese grace lives, and music that has captured hearts for two centuries resounds. The concert "On the Beautiful Blue Danube" at the Gogol House is a musical declaration of love for the great Austrian composer, the "King of Waltz" Johann Strauss. The evening is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of his birth and will gather young performers - laureates of Russian and international competitions, students and graduates of the Gnessin Music College and the Gnessin Academy of Music - on one stage. The audience can expect an extensive program that includes not only the pearls of Strauss's creativity - famous waltzes, polkas, mazurkas - but also works by other masters: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Fritz Kreisler. This evening will become a musical bridge between eras, filled with the beauty of melodies and the richness of intonations. The host Natalia Mukhina will not only announce the numbers but will also gently introduce the listeners to the historical and cultural context, revealing facts from the lives of the composers and the history of the musical works.
