In the White Hall of Lermontovka, miniatures for the small domra and piano are performed - from the baroque elegance of Scarlatti and Corelli to the romantic pages of Glazunov and Vietan and modern pieces. Students from the M. P. Mussorgsky College gather a lively evening of musical strokes from these compositions. The White Hall of Lermontovka transforms into a space for chamber instrumental music, where the main character is the small domra. Students from the string folk department of the M. P. Mussorgsky College prepare a program in which the folk instrument tries on various musical costumes and freely travels through the ages. At the core of the evening are compositions for domra and piano. Arrangements of elegant baroque pieces by Domenico Scarlatti and Arcangelo Corelli will be performed, in which the dialogue between the domra and the keyboard is especially clear. Concise, almost graphic in form, the works show how sensitively the instrument responds to the play of rhythm and the contrast of light and shadow colors. Next to them are lyrical pages in the spirit of the romanticism of Alexander Glazunov and Henri Vietan, where the domra sounds softer and more melodic, like a voice telling a leisurely story. A separate layer of the program consists of original pieces by Evgeny Zhelinsky and Anatoly Tsygankov, written specifically for the domra. These works reveal the character of the instrument as widely as possible: from lively dance fragments to thoughtful slow episodes. For listeners, this is a rare chance to hear compositions that rarely make it to mainstream posters but are highly valued in the professional community and shape the repertoire of young performers. On stage are laureates of international and all-Russian competitions - students of Irina Igorevna Isakova: Alevtina Mandrik, Alyona Golubeva, Sofia Lukina. The piano part is entrusted to Oksana Stepanova, and the concert is led by Irina Isakova, who shares comments about the pieces and the peculiarities of playing the domra. Thanks to this, the program is perceived as a cohesive narrative, where each piece turns out to be a logical continuation of the previous one.
