Concert by Moscow Conservatory student Chen Yizhu (piano). Chen Yizhu is a pianist from China, winner of the Grand Prix of the International Memorial Prize named after P. I. Tchaikovsky. His program features names that are essential to the history of piano music: Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Together with the performer, listeners will journey from the strict architecture of Bach's writing to the romantic richness and grand emotional gestures of 19th and 20th-century music.
