A modern interpretation of strict forms: academic music will enter into a dialogue with electronics, and ancient techniques will gain new life. At the Sergey Kuryokhin Center, a concert dedicated to the 340th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach will take place. However, the artists of the MolOt Ensemble will offer not just a reference to his legacy, but a meaningful experiment at the intersection of times, genres, and technologies. At the core of the program is the "Art of Fugue," Bach's last composition, which became a true manifesto of compositional craft. Arthur Zobnin and Alexey Glazkov have developed original arrangements of this work, incorporating elements of electronic music and modern sound extraction techniques. They do not rewrite the classics; they reinterpret it, transforming it into a living and multilayered structure that sounds different-strict and bold at the same time. The dialogue of times will continue with the performance of four counterpoints by Steve Reich. The compositions of the American minimalist are woven into the program not by chance: his musical thinking is akin to Bach's-precisely structured, rhythmically calibrated, and polyphonic. Each member of the ensemble will perform not only their solo part but also the "internal" voices that sound as an electronic backdrop.
