Fragile melancholy, passion, and drama - all of this resonates in the music of Astor Piazzolla. On stage is a rare combination of a live string ensemble, dance, and vocals. The audience is in for a composition with a story, lived through every movement and every chord. Astor Piazzolla's music is more than tango. It carries destinies, nostalgia, inner conflict, and tenderness. The evening's program will unite the brightest and most sensual compositions of the Argentine composer, including "Libertango", "Oblivion", "Adiós Nonino", "Ave Maria", and scenes from "The History of Tango". Each piece seems to reveal another stroke to the portrait of the modern soul. The performers of the evening will be musicians from the Stradivari Ensemble of the Mariinsky Theatre - a group whose sound is unmistakable. Their instruments are masterpieces of Italian masters from the 17th and 18th centuries: Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri, Guadagnini, and others. Listening to such instruments, the audience feels transported to another dimension - to music rich with time. The conductor and soloist is Lorenz Nasturica-Gershovich, a violinist who inspires the ensemble towards artistic discoveries. The concert also features Ekaterina Shipulina and Oleg Gabyshev. Their plasticity, choreographic expressiveness, and stage energy add visual richness to the music. This will be especially evident in the production "Tango-Ballet", where the passion of Argentine music will take on the physicality of dance. This is one of those rare concerts where the audience feels not only the music but also the story behind it. The Stradivari Ensemble was founded in 2009 at the initiative of Valery Gergiev. Today, it consists of more than twenty performers - leading soloists of the theatre's symphony orchestra, possessing not only skill but also a fine artistic sense. Since 2013, Lorenz Nasturik has been leading the ensemble.
